Counselling
Counselling services are available to students, teachers, and families at The ISF Academy.
Personal Counselling
Personal counselling includes professional, confidential counselling provided by The ISF Academy Educational Psychologist, Principal, Director of Student Development and Admissions and/or EMB Student Guidance Officer. The process may involve assessment and problem solving in the areas of communication skills, conflict resolution, facing failure, friendships, post-event debriefing, coping with grief and depression. External professional counsellors may be contacted depending on the severity of the situation.
Post-Trauma Debriefing
If a post-trauma stress problem is identified in a student or staff, The ISF Academy counselor, teachers and Educational Psychologist will have an informational debriefing as soon as possible. External professional consultations can be arranged to carefully handle the more serious reactions to a traumatic event. The goal is to ensure a healthy recovery.
Crisis Consultation
The ISF Academy should be made aware of any personal crisis among students and staff to provide immediate support through school-based and/or professional consultations.
