Application for 2008/09 Grade 1 and January 2008 Foundation Year

The first batch of applications for the above classes has been processed and the offer letters mailed out in October. Due to the high demand, we will be opening up additional places in our Grade 1.  Parents who are interested in applying for a space for their child for Grade 1 are requested to submit their applications by Wednesday, March 12 2008.  We will have a further admission assessment exercise shortly thereafter.    

Application for 2008/09 Foundation Year, Grade 2 to Grade 9

We are currently accepting applications for the above grades. Assessments for applicants who met the first batch deadline of Friday, November 23, will have their assessments conducted in December and will be notified of the outcome sometime in January. Registration for successful applicants will be two weeks from the date of the notification letter.  Interested parents who missed the deadline are requested to submit their child’s application by Wednesday, March 12.  We will have a further admission assessment exercise shortly thereafter.

Application for 2009/10 and beyond

Parents with younger children or who would like their children to enroll at The ISF Academy in later school years are also invited to register their interest. These parents will be updated regularly regarding the various school events at The ISF Academy’s, including the admission schedule, via email.

Application Checklist     

A completed application consists of the following:

• Completed Application Form   Download Application Form
• HK$1,000 application fee payable by cheque to "The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Limited"
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Copy of HKID or Passport data page and Hong Kong visa stamp
• Recent passport size photo of applicant
• Current and prior year school reports (applicants for Grade 1 and above)

You may choose to supplement the application by submitting the following optional information:

• Teacher evaluation or assessments
• Standardized testing results
• Student profile
• Recommendation letter

Admission Procedure

Application take about one to three months to process. During the period from September to November, the application process for Grades 2 and above may take longer as the focus will be on processing the applications for Grade 1. In general, the procedure is as follows

• Interview scheduled within one month upon receipt of application
• Applicant attends interview, test or group activity (see Interview & Testing below)
• Parents/guardian meet with the Principal, School Head ,Director or other Senior Staff / Faculty
• Letter of Acceptance will be sent to successful candidate
• Parents/guardian confirm enrollment by submitting an “Intent to Enrol/Enrolment Confirmation” Form (and Financial Aid and Schollarship Application Form if required)
• Parents/guardian submit the reservation fee and enrol in the Capital Contribution Scheme to secure their child's place

Voluntary withdrawal of a child requires three months written notice to the school, or three months tuition in lieu of notice.

Interview & Testing

Foundation Year and Grade 1
The interview will take 45 to 60 minutes.
Students will execute some simple tasks as well as listen and respond to a story.

Grade 2 to Grade 5
The interview and written test will take about 2 hours.
The tests will include Chinese, English and Mathematics.

Grade 6 and above
The whole process will take about 3.5 hours.
Interview and written tests for Chinese, English and Mathematics will be conducted.
Project work with a small group will also be arranged.
