Small Group Tutorial (SGT)

Small Group Tutorial (SGT) is offered to students in Grades 6-8 once a week. With a small group approach, students receive more personalized attention. Taught in Putonghua, it provides a choice for students to focus on Language Development or Musicality. If students choose the Language Development element, they study Current Events and Public Speaking with exploration into newspapers, news articles, news broadcasts, and debate or public speaking. If they choose Musicality, they work in small performance groups and are involved in Open Days and All School Assemblies.  A Commitment to Learning grade is awarded and recognized on reports.

Language Support

Language Support Classes are offered twice a week to students in Grade 8 and beyond in order to supplement the English Language Program and the Chinese Language Program. The focus is on speaking properly with attention to proper diction, pronunciation, fluency, inflections, and vocabulary. A Commitment to Learning grade is awarded and identified on reports and transcripts.

Other Languages

Spanish is the third language offered at The ISF Academy. Students may choose to take the course two hours a week after school. The course is marked on Language B Criterion and Commitment to Learning and recognized as an ISF Academy course, not an Extra Curricular Activity (ECA).
