Year End Awards

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Principal’s Award

These are awarded annually to the students demonstrating a positive attitude toward school and learning. It is as simple as this: “The ISF Academy is a better place because you are here!” Recipients of the award are of good academic standing, positive, cheerful, enthusiastic, passionate about learning, self-motivated, motivational and positive with others, keen on self-improvement and have a good grade in conduct. One award will be given for Primary Division and one for Secondary Division.

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Founders’ Cup

These are awarded annually to the students demonstrating the most outstanding academic and personal excellence. In addition, the recipients demonstrate leadership and have excellence in conduct.  One prize will be awarded for Primary Division and one for Secondary Division.

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Spirit Prize

These are awarded annually to the students who personify The ISF Academy's vision. Qualities that the recipients exhibit are leadership, excellence in Student Development activities, community service spirit, team work and high moral standards. The recipients are also personally balanced, socially adept, morally astute, civic minded, environmentally conscious and have a good grade in conduct. One prize will be awarded for Primary Division and one for Secondary Division.

The Professor Charles Kao Award for Innovation and Enterprise

These are awarded annually to the students demonstrating and producing an endeavour that shows innovation and creativity. The recipient must also be community minded, non-materialistic, have a respect for education, an independent thinker, a humanitarian, and exhibit commitment to advance in a chosen area. One award will be given to a student in Grade 3 to 5 and one for Secondary Division.

The S.K. & Margaret Wong Prize for SDP in the Secondary Division

This is awarded annually to the student who personifies the qualities of giving, compassion, community, and innovation to help others.  Qualities that the recipient exhibits are being caring, compassionate, community minded, innovative, SDP in the Secondary Division driven, communicative with leadership characteristics, socially adept, morally astute and civic minded. The recipient must also have a good grade in conduct and be of good academic standing. One prize will be awarded for the Secondary Division.

The S.K. & Margaret Wong Award for Sports Achievement and Sportsmanship

This is awarded annually to the student demonstrating the most outstanding sporting achievement and sportsmanship. The recipient must have represented the school and been awarded top three in the Hong Kong South Sporting Competitions or top eight in the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation Competitions. The recipient must also exhibit leadership, teamwork, have a good grade in conduct as well as be of good academic standing. One award will be given for the Secondary Division. 

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Academic Scholarships

To promote excellence, The Independent Schools Foundation Academy has established The ISF Academy Academic Scholarships for secondary students. Scholarship recipients consistently produce exemplary work and exhibit academic excellence in both achievement and commitment to learning with a minimum of “4” in the latter for all subjects.  Recipients must also have a good grade in conduct, uphold the founding philosophies of the school and adopt a leadership role, particularly in the more senior years. Scholarship recipients receive a 50% remission of the annual tuition each year for their remaining years as a student of The ISF Academy subject to an annual review. 

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy Special Talent Scholarships

To encourage Special Talents, The Independent Schools Foundation Academy has established The ISF Academy Special Talent Scholarships for secondary students. Scholarship recipients actively participate and excel in competitions and exhibitions for their chosen talent. Recipients must also have a good grade in conduct, uphold the founding philosophies of the school and adopt a leadership role, particularly in the more senior years. Scholarship recipients receive a 50% remission of the annual tuition each year, including an annual competition allowance, for their remaining years as a student of The ISF Academy subject to an annual review. 

The Lawrence Cheung Tse Soon Scholarship for Science and Technology

This is awarded annually to a student in the Secondary Division who, in the field of Science and Technology, consistently reflects and improves upon each piece of project work; offers guidance to peers and willingly shares the findings with others in an honest and respectful attitude. In Technology, the recipient challenges existing concepts to develop unique and innovative designs and solutions. In Science, the recipient demonstrates an inquiring mind and curiosity about science and the natural world including expertise in scientific inquiry and methodology and shows an understanding of the interdependence of science, technology and society, including the benefits, limitations and implications imposed by social, economic, political, environmental, cultural and ethical factors. The recipient must have a good grade in conduct and be of good academic standing. 

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy House Cup

This is awarded annually to the House in Secondary Division which has earned the most points over the academic year in Inter-House competitions and programs.
