Fees & Tuition

The ISF Academy is a private independent, non-profit school that receives no Government subsidies for its daily operations. School fees mainly support the low teacher-student ratio and provide what The ISF Academy deems as the best education for its students. Tuition, however, only covers part of the cost of educating a student at The ISF Academy. The difference is made up through donations from parents and friends of The ISF Academy.

ADMISSION DEPOSIT

An Admission Deposit must be paid to secure a child's placement. The deposit is equal to 10 percent of the Annual Tuition (which will be credited towards the total tuition) and composition fee. The entire admission deposit is not refundable if the student decides at a later date not to attend the school.

CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION SCHEME FOR 2011/12 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Capital Contribution Scheme was established by The Independent Schools Foundation to allow the Board to access funds for capital improvements, such as new buildings and equipment, as well as enhancements to the school environment. Each new student is required to join the Scheme and pay a capital contribution within the stipulated deadline of the Acceptance Letter in one of the three ways described below.

  1. The General Capital Levy

The General Capital Levy for 2011/12 academic year is a one-off lump sum of HK$200,000. It is non-interest bearing and refundable (less any outstanding fees or costs incurred by the student) to the Contributor six years after the commencement date of the academic year or three months after the date on which the Nominee ceases to be a student of any school operated by the Foundation, whichever date is the later.

  2. The Annual Capital Levy

Students joining us in 2011/12 who choose this scheme will pay a levy of HK$45,000 for the first year and $30,000 per year for second and subsequent years. It is non-interest bearing, non-transferable and non-refundable and subject to annual adjustment at the discretion of The ISF Academy.

  3. The Capital Note

The Board launched a tranche of Capital Notes  with a face value of HK$4,500,000 (the face value is subject to change for further launches) in October 2011. A Capital Note is non-interest bearing, non-refundable and fully transferable one year after the date of issuance of the Capital Note Certificate or three months after the date on which the Nominee ceases to be a student of The ISF Academy, whichever is later.

The transfer price of the Capital Note will be determined by the Noteholder and the transferee of the Capital Note, subject to approval of The Independent Schools Foundation and upon payment of a transfer fee to the school. In addition, any profit derived from the transfer of the Capital Note will be shared between the Noteholder and the school on an equal basis.

The number of Capital Notes is limited. Requests for Capital Notes are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Interested parents may purchase a Capital Note from current holders or submit an Indication_of_Interest_Form to The Administration Department by fax: 2235 4399; or email capcontribution@isf.edu.hk; or post to The Administration Department, The ISF Academy, No. 1 Kong Sin Wan Road, Pokfulam, Hong Kong. Applications will be placed on our waiting list for Capital Notes.

For further enquiry regarding Capital Notes, please do not hesitate to contact our Administration Department on 2202 2018 or capcontribution@isf.edu.hk for more information.

VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL

The start date for each academic year is August 1, hence any withdrawal notice from any new student that is to take effect for a new academic year should reach the Admissions Office before May 1, failing which the requisite tuition installment amount will be charged accordingly.
