The ISF Academy Primary School students learn Mathematics in both Chinese and English, with reference to curriculum documents from Hong Kong, Beijing, Taiwan, Australia, and the United States. In Chinese Math the focus is on speed, accuracy and memorization aids. In English Math the emphasis is on number manipulation, formulation, and conceptual understanding, as well as practical applications of math.
Students are also expected to be able to understand and express math terminologies and problems in both languages. The objective is to gain the ability to use and communicate mathematically in both English and Chinese speaking societies.
The ISF Academy INSIGHT
